How Are we Doing

From time to time, members & visitors to Jerrys Deere Barn ask about those who come to Jerrys Deere Barn. All I can say is that we have a wide range of individuals who have an interest in vintage John Deere tractors for various reasons. Some of us are tractor hobbyists, while others just want to fix their aging tractors & equipment. This classifies most members & visitors but it certainly does not account for everyone's interest.

The experience & backgrounds of the individuals visiting here, covers so many areas it's really difficult to say. We have students, accountants, lawyers, doctors, mechanics both active & retired, and a lot of folks that just love to get there hands dirty & keep their minds active. The one common thread we all share, is that we all love the opportunity to use our tools, or need an excuse to justify the buying & playing with new tools. From screw drivers to sand blasters! And many of us share other interests like classic cars, electric toy trains, antiques & restorations of just about anything & everything.

And the more the item is rust covered or buried in caked on grease, the happier we are to work on it. I can only express it in this way. It's like when we look at a square block of granite, or a blank clean canvas. All we see is that square of granite & the blank canvas. But when the sculptor or the painter look at the granite or the canvas, they see locked inside waiting to be released, the next great statue or the next great painted scene. And that's what I see when I look at all the rust, peeling paint & dirt. A great part of the past waiting to be returned to its glory days! It's nuts, but who cares when your having fun!
